Background

The Prize of Excellence for Victorian Tertiary Studies was established in 2005 with the aim of encouraging academic excellence and community involvement amongst full time students who are enrolled at any tertiary educational establishment in the state of Victoria. The scheme is absolutely non-discriminatory. There is no restriction on an applicant's background based on nationality, residency, ethnicity or faith. It is also not means nor income tested. 1st Prize: $5000 2nd Prize: $3000 3rd Prize: $2000 Also a number of meritorious prizes for outstanding academic and community service achievements. A new award category for Chinese Medicine (including herbal medicine and acupuncture) is introduced for the 2023 TSF Awards, which is open to any students studying Chinese Medicine in Victoria. 1st Prize: $1500 2nd Prize: $500 Also a number of meritorious prizes for outstanding academic achievements.

Eligibility requirements:

A full time student enrolled at an accredited tertiary educational institution in the state of Victoria.

Selection criterion:

Each application will be vetted by a panel of academic and community experts representing a broad spectrum of Victorian society. Applications will be judged against the following criteria: - Academic excellence (1/3 weighting) - Voluntary community service (1/3 weighting) - Personal interview of short-listed candidates (1/3 weighting)

Eligibility requirements (Chinese Medicine):

A full time student enrolled at an accredited tertiary educational institution of Chinese Medicine in the State of Victoria. Students can choose to apply for awards under the main category or the Chinese Medicine category, but only one application for one candidate will be accepted.

Selection criterion (Chinese Medicine):

Each application will be vetted by a panel of academic experts in Chinese Medical of Victorian society. Applications will be judged against the following criteria: - Evidence of Academic Merit obtained through the bachelor’s degree with at least GPA average of 3.0 - Evidence of demonstrating dedication in the delivering of health and aged care services - Evidence of passion in advancing Chinese medicine services that benefit the society
